11^th SLOVENIAN MARATHON ORIENTEERING

Invitation

Type of competition: 2 day orienteering marathon. Competition takes place in pairs of runners. Times of both days count for the overall result.

Place of competition: Soriška planina (Competition center), the competition itself will take place in the area of Bohinj ridge and Jelovica plateau.

Date of competition: 4^th and 5^th October, 2008

Organizer: OK Plastnica with know-how (to die) support by Daniel Lebar

Terrain: 1^st day typical Alpine area mainly above forest boundary, 2^nd day hilly karst forest

Map: 1 : 25.000, contour interval 10m

Classes and courses:

• MEN, overall estimated winning time 8,5 hours
• WOMEN, overall estimated winning time 7hours
• MIXED pairs, overall estimated winning time 7hours
• SHORT (no restriction on composition of teams), overall estimated winning time 4hours

In case of bad weather the courses may be shortened. In case of extremely bad weather forecast for the first competition day and much better forecast for the second day, the organizer reserves the right to change the order of the competition courses of the two days.

Entry fee: 30 EUR/team for both days, 20 EUR/team for one day. Participants of the 1^st SMO in 1998 have 10% discount.

Notes: Organizer takes no responsibility for the runners. Each competitor takes part at his own responsibility and is not insured by the organizer.

Persons older than 15 and younger than 18 years may take part only in case of written agreement of parent(s)or caretaker(s).
